Why is the show in a purpose-built Showdome rather than in a theatre?

Old-fashioned theatres aren’t always the best places for younger audiences. We thought we’d create a space especially for young children and their parents, where we can recreate the magic of the Night Garden in a way that wouldn’t be possible in an old-fashioned theatre.

Who made the Showdome?

The Showdome was made by a company called Tectoniks. They have lots of experience making these inflatable structures, and they’ve been used all over the world!

What are the safety arrangements?

Safety is our top priority. We work closely with an independent safety consultant and the local authorities in our host cities. There are strict limits on the number of people we will admit at any one time, and there are plenty of exits and stewards.

What about the weather?

Inside the Showdome you’re completely protected from the elements and the show will proceed in all expected weather conditions. The Showdome is built to withstand winds up to 90kph, which is a force 10 gale. In the unlikely event that winds approach this strength, performances will be postponed and ticket holders will be notified.

Is there somewhere to leave my buggy?

Yes, we have a dedicated, covered buggy parking area in the foyer, and there are staff in that area at all times.

Are there loos?

Yes, we have high quality, flushing loos (with steps and trainer seats) at the Showdome.

Are there baby changing facilities?

Yes, we have a dedicated, well-equipped area for baby changing.

Is food and drink available?

Yes – drinks and snacks are available to buy at the Showdome. You’ll find cold drinks, coffee, crisps, sweets, popcorn and ice lollies available in the foyers. We also have healthy options including fruity pots and cereal bars. If you need to heat up baby food, you can use our microwave in the foyer next to the shop.

Can I heat up baby food?

Yes, we have microwaves available.

Is there heating and cooling?

Yes, we have air-conditioning and heating so we can make sure the temperature inside the Showdome is comfortable whatever the weather outside.

Do you supervise the children?

No, each child must be in the company of a responsible adult at all times.

Is merchandise available?

Yes, there is a wide range of merchandise available at the Showdome, including light-up windmills, showdome cushions (which also make great bath-time kneelers!), t-shirts, toys, books, DVDs and balloons. Every ticket includes a souvenir activity brochure (worth £7). The lowest priced item is a pair of Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy hand puppets (£4.50 each) and the highest priced item is the Ninky Nonk train set (£50). Most of the merchandise is in the £4.50 - £8 price range.

When do I get my Goody Bag?

If you choose to buy a Goody Bag, you’ll get a voucher with your show tickets. You can exchange this voucher for a Goody Bag when you arrive at the Showdome. When you collect the Goody Bag, you’ll be given a choice of an Igglepiggle bag or an Upsy Daisy bag.

I’ve already booked tickets for the show. Can I add a Goody Bag to my existing booking?

Yes. You can add a Goody Bag to your existing booking by signing into your online account (click "Sign in" at the top right of this page). Once you've signed in, you'll see an option to add a Goody Bag to your order - don't forget, you'll save £10 by purchasing it in advance. You can also add a Goody Bag to your order by calling our customer service team on 0330 1200 123 (Mon-Fri, 9.30am-6pm)

How does the Advent calendar work?

Our special online Advent calendar features 24 days of In the Night Garden fun and games, with a new animation, video or game to discover each and every day - plus the chance to win some amazing gifts!

Once you've registered on our homepage you'll find your online Advent calendar on our website from the 1 December - simply log in with Facebook or your email address, and click on a door to find out who's hiding behind it.

If the door is greyed out it's not available just yet, and the new door each day is marked with a star.

Opening each day's new door between 6am and 6pm gives you have a chance to win one of our exciting gifts - an In the Night Garden Live 2017 wall calendar, or VIP Family Tickets. This includes 4 Premium tickets to a show of your choice, plus 2 Goody Bags and 2 Meet a Character tickets - worth up to £168!

What are the seats like?

Old-fashioned theatre seats aren’t the best for young audiences – they are often too far from the stage and at the wrong height. We’ve made a special seating stand with raised platforms to give you better views and more flexibility. There are only 13 rows, each one higher than one in front, so wherever you sit you’re close to the stage and there is a clear view of the show. The platforms are like benches rather than individual seats, so you can cuddle up or spread out depending on how you feel.

Will I get an actual seat number?

No – your ticket will say which area you’ve booked for (the Standard area or the Premium area) but within that area you can sit where you like.

What is the Premium area?

We know that some people really want to sit at the front, so the first five rows of our seating stand nearest the stage are our Premium seats. You’ll need to pay a bit extra to sit here, but you can be sure you’ll be in the first five rows.

Is there access for wheelchairs and children who can't leave their buggies?

Yes, we have special areas set aside with flat access from ground level. If you are a wheelchair user, are disabled, or have a child who can't leave their buggy, you can book online up to 72 hours before your chosen performance. How much do tickets cost?

Ticket prices change according to demand, a bit like an airline. You'll get the biggest discount if you book early, and we promise that prices will never go down so the sooner you book the less your tickets will cost.

Top price tickets booked on the day of the show cost £35, but when tickets first go on sale you'll be able to book weekend premium seats for just £20 and weekend standard seats for £14.50 (with even bigger discounts on weekdays). Every ticket includes a Souvenir Activity Brochure worth £7.

I have a coupon code, how do I use it?

If you have a coupon code, you need to enter it in the coupon box on the "Your Basket" page and click "Apply Code" before continuing to payment. It is not possible to apply discount codes after you have booked your tickets.

Where can I find a coupon code?

We normally email early-bird booking discount coupon codes to people who have signed up for our mailing list. We sometimes run offers on our Facebook page. From time to time we work with promotional partners who use codes. If you find a code on the internet, make sure that it's from this year and it's still valid. What is a Premium ticket?

If you buy a Premium ticket you will be seated in the first five rows nearest the stage.

What is a Standard ticket?

If you buy a Standard ticket, you will be seated in rows six to thirteen.

Is there a lower age limit?

No. We hope that any child who engages with In the Night Garden on the TV will also engage with the live show. The parents of very young children have told us that their children loved the show. Are there discounts for children?

No – in order to make the pricing as simple as possible we’re not offering any concessions for children aged six months and over. Instead we’re offering attractive discounts for our off-peak performances and discount '+ baby' tickets (for children aged 0 – 5 months on the date of the performance) with every child ticket purchased.

What is a '+ baby' ticket?

These are discount tickets for babies (under the age of 6 months at the time of their visit) accompanying an older child. It is only possible to buy a '+ baby' ticket when buying a child ticket. 

What is a child ticket?

These are tickets for children aged between 6 months and 16 years old.

What is an adult ticket?

These are tickets for people over the age of 16 years old.

Will an adult be admitted on a child ticket?

We know that your plans might change, and because adult and child tickets cost the same it’s ok for an adult to use a child ticket. Please contact us at the link below with your order number so we can make a note on your order. This will mean there aren’t any delays on the day!

Are there family tickets available?

No – we don’t offer family tickets, but discount tickets for babies (under the age of 6 months at the time of their visit) are available with every child ticket purchased.

Do I need to buy a ticket for my baby?

Yes – all children, however young, need to have a ticket. Because of our special seating stand, babies count towards the maximum number of people we can allow in the Showdome. As the show appeals to very young children, and because of the difficulties in fairly applying an age limit, we have decided that babies must have a ticket.

Discount '+ baby' tickets are available for babies (under the age of 6 months at the time of their visit) accompanying an older child. It is only possible to buy a '+ baby' ticket when buying a child ticket.

I've heard about £12.50 tickets but I can't find any to buy?

We put thousands of £12.50 seats on sale - you may need to look for off-peak performances. If you can't find any then they've all been sold already. If you're looking at the ticket grid, select "Lowest Prices" at the top of the grid to highlight the performances with the lowest prices.

Are there any booking fees?

There are no booking fees for tickets booked online or over the phone. If you want to pick up your tickets at the Showdome or have your tickets to be posted to you, there is a £5 fee. There is also the option to have your tickets delivered in a special Souvenir Gift Box, which makes a great keepsake, and is sent out via Royal Mail 24 for next day delivery. This costs £10, and can be selected at the checkout.

How will I receive my tickets?

There are three different ways for you to receive your tickets - you can choose to have them delivered by email, by 2nd class post (£5) or in a special Souvenir Gift Box (1st class delivery, £10).

How do I receive my e-tickets?

You should receive an email shortly after booking with your e-tickets attached. You must print out the tickets before you come to the Showdome. Please make sure you print all your e-tickets as each one has a unique bar code that will be scanned at the entrance to the Showdome. If you can’t print out your e-tickets, you can download them onto your smart phone and we can scan the barcode from your screen, although this might mean you’ll need to queue for slightly longer.

I've chosen to have my tickets posted. When will I receive them?

If you selected and paid for postal tickets, your tickets will be printed and posted within two working days of you placing your order. Tickets are sent via Royal Mail second class post.

What should I do if I haven't received my e-tickets?

Your e-tickets should be emailed to you within 24 hours of placing your order. If you haven't received your e-tickets, log in to your online account (click "Log in" at the top right of this page), where you'll find your e-tickets to download. If you are still having problems with this, call our customer service team on 0330 1200 123 - lines are open Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6pm.

What should I do if I'm having problems downloading my e-tickets from my online account?

Is there anywhere I can buy tickets in advance in person?

The only way to buy tickets in person is at our onsite box office which is open on performance days from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Can I buy a ticket on the day?

Yes – providing there are tickets left you can buy them at the Showdome on the day. You can also buy them by phone or online up to an hour before the performance.

Can I exchange my tickets for a different performance?

You can change your seats for a different performance if you get in touch with us before the advertised start time of your show by paying a £5 exchange fee. The £5 fee is payable in addition to any increase in ticket price between the price you originally paid and the current price for the new performance (there will be no refund if the current price for the new performance is less than the price you originally paid). To change your seats, call our customer service team on 0330 1200 123 - lines are open Mon-Fri, 9.30am - 6pm.

Can I have a refund for my tickets?

No, tickets are not refundable. However we do have a flexible exchange policy where you can change your seats for a different performance up to an hour before the show by paying a £5 exchange fee and any increase in ticket price. To read the full exchange policy, click here. There is also a Booking Refund Protection option available at the time of booking, which is administered by Booking Protect Ltd. Please read the Booking Refund Protection terms and conditions if you select this option when booking your tickets.

What time should I arrive?

We will open the doors to the auditorium about half an hour before the performance is due to start.

I'm running late, what should I do?

If you’re running late don’t worry, just make your way to the Showdome and we will do our best to accommodate you. Please don’t phone our ticket line, our staff at the Showdome will be able to help you when you arrive.

How long is a performance?

Each performance lasts for just under an hour.

I've bought a ticket to Meet a Character after the show – how long will it take?

The Meet a Character Experience normally lasts between two and three minutes. If you have booked a ticket to meet a character in advance, your meeting should happen within an hour of the show finishing. Meetings happen in the order they were booked and we’ll call your name when it’s your turn so you don’t need to queue up.

Why are there two different shows?

We know that some people like to see their favourite shows more than once, so we thought we’d help by making more than one show.

What is the difference between the two shows?

Each show follows a different story, but they’re not linked, you don’t need to see both, and if you do want to see both you can see them in any order. It’s just like two different episodes of In the Night Garden on the TV. In the Ninky Nonk show, Igglepiggle loses his blanket and all his friends help him find it. In the Pinky Ponk show, Makka Pakka washes everyone’s faces, until his sponge gets stuck in Upsy Daisy’s megaphone!

Are all the main characters in each show?

Yes. Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka all appear live in each show.

How are the characters recreated?

Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka are all recreated by both human size costume characters and puppets.

Will there be narration and music?

Yes, the show includes the music and songs from the TV show, with the voice of the TV narrator, Sir Derek Jacobi.

How will the projections be used?

We project spectacular panoramic imagery on the inside wall of the Showdome – it feels like you’re inside the Night Garden!

Will you turn all the lights out?

No. We know that some of our audience don’t like the dark, so there will always be some ambient light on in the Showdome.

Can I take photos during the show?

Yes, it’s fine to take photos in the Showdome, but please, please do turn off your flash. Flashes can be very distracting to the performers and other audience members, and our ushers will ask you to stop if you use a flash.

If I need to take my child to the toilet during the show will we be allowed back in?

Yes, we understand that you might need to leave the auditorium during the show, and you’ll be allowed back in whenever you’re ready. Our special seating stand has plenty of space for you to get in and out without much of a fuss.

Is it possible for a birthday announcement to be made on stage for my child?

No, the characters do not speak in the same way that we do, so it is not possible for them to say happy birthday to a member of the audience.

Is it possible for my child to meet a character after the show?

Yes. It is possible to buy a separate ticket to meet Igglepiggle or Upsy Daisy after the show.

Can we meet Makka Pakka?

No. It is only possible to meet Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy after the show.

Is it possible to meet both Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy?

Yes. You can meet both characters after the show but you will need a ticket to meet each character, and the meetings will happen separately.

What is the Meet a Character Experience like?

We have special private areas where the only people present will be your family, the character and one of our ushers. The meeting will last about two to three minutes, which in our experience is plenty of time for most children to overcome any initial shyness and give their favourite character a hug.

How do I buy a ticket for the Meet a Character Experience?

When you book your show tickets, you will be offered the option to meet a character after the show.

The ticket costs £15 per family. This is valid for up to five people, including a maximum of three children. The ticket price includes a souvenir story folder and photo.

Is there a maximum number of people that can Meet a Character?

Yes. Each meeting is for a maximum of five people (children and adults) and there can be a maximum of three children.

There are no Meet a Character tickets left for my performance. Will it still be possible to Meet a Character after the show?

Yes, it will be possible to buy a ticket on the day, but you might have to wait for more than an hour after the end of the show.

How long will I have to wait to Meet a Character?

If you have booked your Meet a Character Experience in advance, we expect your meeting will happen within an hour of the show ending. Meetings happen in order of booking.

Will I have to queue to Meet a Character?

No. We will call you forward when it’s your turn. There’s lots of space to wait in, and you can sit down and have a drink or a snack or go to the loo while you’re waiting.

Can I take my own photos during the Meet a Character Experience?

Yes, you are more than welcome to take your own photos. Souvenir photographs are also available and one photo (with a souvenir story folder) is included in the ticket price.

Is it possible to Meet a Character without seeing the show?

No. Tickets for the Meet a Character Experience are only valid when accompanied by a show ticket.

Is it possible to Meet a Character at a different time from seeing the show?

No. It is only possible to Meet a Character straight after the show you have tickets for.

How much does it cost to call your 03 telephone numbers?

Whether you call from your mobile or fixed landline, calls to any of our 03 telephone numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number. Calls to 03 numbers count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls. I've had my item more than 7 days but now it's broken. Can I return it?

Why isn't In the Night Garden Live visiting my city?

We only have confirmed plans to visit London, Birmingham and Manchester in 2017. In the Night Garden Live is produced by Minor Entertainment under licence from DHX Worldwide Ltd. It is not funded by the BBC, and no licence-fee money is used. As an independent company, Minor Entertainment makes commercial decisions about which locations the tour visits. These decisions are affected by the availability of suitable locations and the likelihood of the show breaking even in a particular location. In the Night Garden Live is a very large-scale show, and it needs a large number of attendees in any location to break even. The scale of the show means that the transport costs are very high (at least 20 lorries move between each site) so long distances increase the costs significantly, and this is the main reason we haven't yet visited Northern Ireland or Eire. Are there plans for In the Night Garden Live to tour to countries outside the UK?

We don't yet have any confirmed plans to take In the Night Garden Live outside of the UK, but if you sign up to our mailing list (click "Sign Up" at the top of this page), you'll be the first to hear if this changes!

How can you help poorly children see the show?

We will do everything we can to make sure that a child's medical condition doesn't prevent them from experiencing In the Night Garden Live. Although it's not possible for us to visit hospitals or hospices, we are used to working with children who have very special needs including diminished immune systems. Please get in touch with us at helpdesk@nightgardenlive.com. If you would like financial assistance for a poorly child to see the show, we ask that you contact the Make a Wish Foundation: http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/ When you refer a child to them (http://www.make-a-wish.org.uk/wishes/how-do-i-refer-a-child/), please write 'In the Night Garden Live' at the top of the form.

I'm in a group of over 5 people and we all want to meet the same character. How do I book this?

If there are more than 5 people in your group and you all want to meet to same character, you'll need more than one Meet a Character ticket and your meetings will happen separately. You can add an additional ticket to meet the same character by logging into your online account - click Log In at the top right of this page. Once logged in you'll the see the green button option to "Add Meet a Character" to your order. Each Meet a Character ticket is for a maximum of five people (children and adults) and there can be a maximum of three children. Additional Meet a Character tickets are subject to availability.

Do you send items abroad?

No, unfortunately we’re not able to deliver items outside the UK at the moment.

Who will deliver my merchandise order?

Items are dispatched on the next working day after you have placed your order by Royal Mail second class post.

What's in the Goody Bag?

The 2017 Goody Bag will have a total value of £60 and will contain a great selection of toys, books and games, including a light-up windmill, a character hand puppet, a Tombliboo soft toy and much more! The full contents will be announced shortly, please check back for more information coming soon.If you buy your Goody Bag in advance it costs £29, a saving of £31! If you buy your Goody Bag on the day it will cost £39. We reserve the right to make substitutions according to stock availability. If we need to change an item for something else of at least the same value we’ll make this clear on signage at the collection point. We guarantee a retail value of at least £50 for all the items combined. When you come to collect your Goody Bag, if you decide, for any reason that it doesn’t meet your expectations and you don’t want to keep it, we will refund the money that you paid for it. To claim your full refund, simply hand your goody bag back before leaving the counter and ask for your money back.

I’ve changed my mind – can I return my items?

If you change your mind and contact us within 14 days of delivery, you are entitled to a refund. Items must be returned to us unopened in their original packaging within 14 days of cancellation. Please email helpdesk@nightgardenlive.com and we’ll help you with this.

What will happen if I’m not at home when my order is delivered?

Royal Mail will usually post a card through your door if you aren’t in when they try to deliver your parcel. This card will tell you when they’ll try to deliver again, or where you can collect your parcel from if this isn’t possible.

Where's my merchandise order?

If you haven’t received your items after 7 days of placing your order online, please email helpdesk@nightgardenlive.com with your order number and we’ll look into it for you.

Do you have to send my merchandise order to my billing address?

Yes, we can only send your order to your billing address (the address your payment card is registered to).

How long will it take for my merchandise order to arrive?

Your merchandise order should arrive within 5 days of the dispatch date. Dispatch normally happens the next working day after you place your order online.

How much does delivery cost?

P&P on all orders from our online shop costs £3.95. Your items will be dispatched on the next working day after you place your order, by Royal Mail second class post.

Can I buy a Goody Bag on the day?

Yes, you can buy a Goody Bag on the day for £39. If you buy your Goody Bag in advance you'll receive it for the special price of £29.

I already have an account, do I need to register?

Yes, you will need to register again to access this year's Advent calendar.

During the registration process you will be reminded if you already have an account with us, and you will then be able to access your calendar using your email address and password.

To make sure we can get your gifts to you as easily as possible you will need to update your address and phone number.

 

Why do you need my home address and mobile number?

We need your address in case you win a wall calendar gift, as we need to know where to send it! Please note that we can only send gifts to your home address in the UK.

We need your mobile number in case you win one of our VIP Family Ticket gifts. One of our Helpdesk Team will call you the next working day to confirm your details, help you pick a date and make all the necessary arrangements. 

To make sure you don't miss out we'll send your gift details via free SMS, making it easier than ever to claim your gifts.

You can also opt in to receive priority SMS messages from us, keeping you up to date with our most important announcements - such as when tickets go on sale.

Why are different performances different prices?

We think it makes most sense to price the performances according to demand – a bit more like an airline than a theatre – so if you want to go at a less busy time it’ll cost less than at a more popular time.

How do I remove Facebook Login from my account?

If you've signed in using Facebook already, your Facebook account will be linked with the email address you used at the time. To unlink it, simply sign in and click “Remove Facebook Login”. First,  click "Sign In" in the top right corner of your screen, and choose "Sign In with Facebook". Once you've signed in, you'll see Your Account page. Now click the "Remove Facebook Login" button at the bottom right to unlink your Facebook account.

What should I do if I am unable to attend the show and have purchased Booking Refund Protection?

If you need to cancel your booking and have Booking Refund Protection on your order, you need to complete a Refund Application Form online on the Booking Protect website: https://bookingprotect.com/refund/. Please refer to the Booking Refund Protection terms and conditions for details.

Please remember we have a flexible exchange policy that allows you to change your seats for for a different performance if you get in touch with us before the advertised start time of your show. You can read our full exchange policy here.

I don't have a Facebook account - can I still register for the Advent calendar?

Yes, you can register for your Advent calendar using your email address. You will need to create a password, and use these details to everytime you want to access your Advent calendar.

I'm having trouble logging in with my password. What should I do?

There is another account registered to my home address. What should I do?

In order to spread as much Christmas cheer as possible there can only be one winning account per household. What gifts can I win with the Advent calendar?

This year we're giving away more gifts than ever, with over £214,000 worth of tickets and gifts to be won this December.

From 1-24 December we will be giving away VIP Family Tickets each and every day, worth £168!

This gift includes 4 Premium tickets to show of your choice, 2 Goody Bags and 2 Meet a Character experiences - everything you need for an unforgettable family day out at In the Night Garden Live 2017.

There are also 30,000 In the Night Garden Live 2017 wall calendars to be won, and for your chance to win all you need to do is register and play along online!

Each day's new door will be marked with a star, and if you open this between 6am and 6pm that day you'll have a chance to win a gift! If you're lucky you'll see a pop-up screen telling you you've won, and you'll also receive an email with more details.

If you don't see this message you haven't won this time, but you'll have another chance tomorrow. Gifts can only be won on doors marked with a star, and only on your first opening, between 6am and 6pm.

In order to spread as much Christmas cheer as possible you can only win one of each gift, but you can win both a wall calendar and the VIP Family Tickets, so do keep playing up to the 24th December for the best chance of winning!

What is the Presale?

The Presale is a chance for registered users to book tickets up to 48 hours before they go on general sale, offering the widest choice of tickets at the best prices! Presale begins on 25 Jan and continues until tickets go on sale to the public on on 27 Jan.

How do I register for the Presale?

You can register for Presale by visiting the website homepage here (https://www.nightgardenlive.com/). You will then need to follow the link and enter your details in order to be fully signed up. You should receive an email confirmation once this is complete, do please check your Spam or Junk folders if you haven’t received it.

When is the Presale?

Presale begins on 25 Jan. Registered users will receive an email on 19 Jan confirming the earliest time they can book tickets - these are staggered throughout the morning, starting at 9am, and are assigned in order of registration.

When do tickets go on general sale?

Tickets go on general sale at 9am on 27 January. If you would like early access to the best priced tickets on 25 Jan, you can register for the Presale on the website homepage now! https://www.nightgardenlive.com/

What is the difference between £7 voucher and £5 coupon?

The £5 coupon is an exclusive discount offered to all users who register for the Presale, and will take £5 off orders over £60, or 5% off orders under that. The £7 voucher is a special offer that provides an improved discount of £7 off your order total (with no minimum spend), as well as priority access to tickets. There are only a limited number of £7 vouchers available, and these can be purchased for £1 during the registration process. You can only use one code when booking tickets, and the £7 voucher is our best possible discount.

Can I use multiple vouchers on one transaction?

You are only able to use one money saving code on your transaction. The discount will be taken off the total order, once you have applied the code at the checkout. You can book as many tickets as you need using just one code.

I haven’t got Facebook, can I still register for the Presale?

You can still register for the Presale if you haven’t got a Facebook account. Whilst registering, when you reach the page that asks you to sign up with Facebook, please look for the link underneath that says 'I don't have a Facebook account'. Once you click on that please follow the button that says 'OK, Sign up with email'. You can then create an account using just your email address, and a password you create.

When will I receive my voucher?

The voucher will be sent to you by email on 19 January before Presale starts on 25 Jan. Please do check your Spam or Junk folders in case it gets diverted there by mistake.

How do I buy a £7 voucher?

You will be given an option to buy a £7 voucher for £1 when registering for the Presale. There are a limited number of vouchers available so it’s best to sign up now!
